The Mirkwood Sylvan won’t soon forget the display of raw power put on today by Zurthug the Masher of the Minas Ithil Wyrms. He victimized the Sylvan by pounding three pitches out of Silmarillion Cellular Field to spark his club to the 5-4 win.
“I got three pitches down the pipe and popped them,” the Masher told reporters. “Today I was in a groove. Tomorrow, I could just pop up the same pitches and go 0-for-3.”
In addition to the homers, he collected 3 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
Zurthug the Masher hit a solo-shot off Cittabhoga Hasse in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Cittabhoga Hasse in the 6th, flied out in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Tathor Shalandalan in the 9th.
So far this year the Masher is hitting .250 with 5 home runs.
