The crowd roared — they knew they were seeing history — and Sang-your Nuesink was delighted, too. The 30-year-old Miners left fielder was making history with his 300th career homer. The crowd buzzed and roared again when Nuesink stuck his head out of the dugout for a curtain call.
“Never, as a kid, did I ever think I’d hit even one,” he told BNN after hitting No. 300 in a 13-6 victory over Isengard. Nuesink went 2-for-3 in the game, had 4 runs batted in, and scored 3 runs.
Looking at his career numbers, Nuesink has played in 1309 games with a .232 batting average. Among his 1070 hits are 102 doubles, 18 triples and 300 home runs. He has also scored 746 runs and driven in 673 runs.
