In the twilight of his career, 35-year-old Joel Elvàviel of Dead Marshes recaptured some of the old magic last week and came away with the Mordor Conference Player of the Week Award.
“I’ve been playing since I was a kid,” Elvàviel told reporters, “but you’re never too old to feel the thrill of success.”
Elvàviel outpaced the rest of the league’s hitters last week, reeling off 8 hits in 19 at-bats, 4 home runs, and 8 RBIs to stake his claim to the award.
Hitting .279 to date, Elvàviel has 31 home runs and 66 RBIs. He has played in 80 games.
