The Rivendell Royals ran into a buzzsaw at Old League Park today as Carrock Bears starter Briblag the Mangler cut them down to size, 5-0, tossing a 1-hit shutout.
“That’s one thing that has never changed in this game — pitching can control hitting,” Bears manager G’Kar Moonpoker told reporters after the game. “Briblag knows exactly what he’s doing. He’s not going to throw you a good pitch until you make him throw one.”
In the complete game win, the Carrock hurler doled out no walks and registered 8 strikeouts.
For the year the Mangler has a 6-6 record with a 3.50 ERA in 14 starts.
