In the twilight of his career, 40-year-old Ginyc Maker of Dol Guldur recaptured some of the old magic last week and came away with the Mordor Conference Player of the Week Award.
“I’ve been playing since I was a kid,” Maker told reporters, “but you’re never too old to feel the thrill of success.”
Maker outpaced the rest of the league’s hitters last week, reeling off 11 hits in 27 at-bats, 4 home runs, and 14 RBIs to stake his claim to the award.
This season Maker is hitting at a .270 pace with 27 home runs, 56 RBIs and has scored 73 times.
