With right fielder Faramir Guschin leading the charge, the Erebor Eagles got a road win over the Old Forest Merry Fellows, 4-3, in Game 2 of the Hobbit Series today. Guschin was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 at Shire Greens Stadium to help Erebor force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-3 series.
Erebor used a clutch hit from Wuurg Degranda to get the win. The center fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Eagles ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
“We’ll savor this win,” Guschin told the Erebor Times, “then get ready for the next game.”
Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday at The Eyrie.
