The Ravenhill Darkwings have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Minas Morgul Slayers, winning 3-1 at The Ballpark at Helms Deep today. Darkwings right-hander Bil Miwa threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Darkwings to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Fellowship Series.
With runs few and far between, the Darkwings had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Ravenhill came in the bottom of the fourth inning, when first baseman Forerunner *Baggins delivered a 2-run home run. The home run was hit off Ugduk Fistripper and made the score 2-1, Darkwings. *Baggins was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
“It’s a huge change in atmosphere versus last game,” *Baggins said after the win. “I feel like we’re back in the mix now. We just can’t let up.”
