Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the Shire Conference Two Towers Series. It turned out quite a bit different.
The Bywater Bounders swept aside the Erebor Eagles to advance to the Return of the King Series, winning the final game by a 5-4 score at The Eyrie.
The series MVP was second baseman Wes Eärémbor, who hit .412 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, drove in 9 RBI and scored 8 runs.
“We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise,” he said. “But we’ll take it.”
The Bywater Bounders will play against the Minas Morgul Slayers in the next round. Minas Morgul won their series against the Dunharrow Devils 4 games to 0. The Return of the King Series schedule will be announced after the Two Towers Series finishes.
