Sylvan *Hamrh Sizzles with Cycle

Tuesday, July 5th , 2050
DeForest *Hamrh did everything he could for the Mirkwood Sylvan — literally.

The 35-year-old catcher hit a single, a double, a triple and a home run for the Sylvan, going for the cycle and helping them get past the Erebor Eagles, 14-5, at The Eyrie.

“Yeah, I was some kind of hitter in this game,” *Hamrh reflected later. “It was like all I had to do was close my eyes and swing the bat.”

In a game headed for the record books, *Hamrh banged out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and totaled 5 runs batted in and 1 run scored. Speaking with the press about the feat, he attributed it to “a lot of luck.”

“A triple is so hard to hit,” he said. “To just decide to get one in a game when you need it for a cycle, it’s impossible. Usually something weird has to happen, the ball kicking past an outfielder or somebody falling down. There’s a ton of luck in hitting for a cycle.”

DeForest *Hamrh hit a three-run home run off Nim Rougecheeks in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.

So far this year in 43 games, *Hamrh is hitting .407 with 5 home runs, 38 RBIs and 31 runs scored.
