Ugak *the Masher or “Smokey” as he is known in the clubhouse went to another level this year. The Dead Marshes second baseman hit .409, making him just the 10th player to reach the .400 mark at the end of a season. His average puts him at #5 on the list of best batting average performances in league history. But that’s not all he accomplished this year. Ugak lead the league in Hits (220), Total Bases (410), Runs Scored (139), Extra Base Hits (96), On-Base Percentage (.514), Slugging Percentage (.762) and WAR (13.7). This is the 4th straight year that he has been named Mordor Conference MVP. Earlier he also was awarded the MC Sam Gamgee Batter trophy and was given a Gimli’s Axe award at 2B.
Misagenes Foebinder of the Dunharrow Devils finished 2nd in the voting, and in third place was Eluin *Enguin of the Lothlorien Lumberjacks.
