Smughbub Throatshaker, the Mirkwood Sylvan 24-year-old first baseman, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for Shire Conference Player of the Week honors.
He ripped 9 hits in 24 at-bats, compiling a .375 average with 4 home runs and 7 RBIs.
Thus far this year, Throatshaker has hit .276 with 15 home runs and 55 RBIs.
