Dol Guldur Dragons manager Vrsong the Drooler knew it was a gamble to give the start to a rookie. It was a good gamble to take.
Pitching in front of a hostile crowd, 23-year-old left-hander Iver Durieux silenced the host Lothlorien Lumberjacks at Celebrant Field. The Dragons shut out the Lumberjacks by a final score of 1-0, to give the Dragons a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Fellowship Series.
Dol Guldur starter Iver Durieux was exceptional. The 6-foot-5 left-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits over 8 innings of work.
In comments to the Dol Guldur Today, Durieux admitted he’s been told to improve his work habits. “But,” he said, “I know when to take it to another gear.”
The next game is set to be played for Thursday, October 12th , 2051 at Dol Guldur Stadium.
