Leave it to the veteran.
The Numenor Kings got a great start from 42-year-old right-hander Till Underhill, as Numenor won the contest, 9-1, at Old League Park. Underhill threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball in the win, which allowed the Numenor to grab a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Numenor used a clutch at-bat from Xing-peng Elisondo to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Kings ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
“We took advantage of our opportunities,” Elisondo told the Numenor News. “It’s as simple as that.”
Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at Capital One Stadium.
