The Dol Guldur Dragons got a strong performance from pitcher Iver Durieux, who stymied the Weathertop offense en route to a 2-1 win in Game 2 of the Fellowship Series. The Witch Kings could never get a bead on the left-handed Durieux, who threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball. The Dragons now hold a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-7 series.
Fastolph Grub had a direct impact on the outcome. Grub contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Dol Guldur up, 2-0.
“We’re happy,” Grub told reporters after the win. “When you’re in the playoffs, you’ve got to treat every game like it could be your last.”
Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at Dol Guldur Stadium.
