Yesterday left fielder Bingo Banks of the Erebor Eagles got the devastating news that his career was over. Doctors told him it was one of the worse injuries they had seen, and without a doubt his playing days were over. Today Banks announced his retirement. He was 41, forced to give up baseball because of a fractured ankle.
In his career, Banks has accumulated a .286 batting average with 2258 hits. His totals include 520 doubles, 79 triples, 135 home runs, 1656 strikeouts, 1339 runs scored, 839 RBIs and a lifetime .398 OBP.
