The Minas Morgul Slayers started the Return of the King Series in style today, downing the visiting Bywater Bounders at Sylvan Cove by a score of 9-3 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Slayers right-hander Jhaan Clatharla threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball.
Minas Morgul grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Udhagh the Crazy Bastard delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 4-3 in favor of the Slayers.
“We swung the bats good throughout the lineup,” said Minas Morgul skipper Mimosa Willow.
