MC Pitcher of the Month Goes to Mack

It was a productive month of July for Dagorlad reliever Fredegar Mack. He put up some impressive figures with 9 saves in 10 save opportunities — figures so impressive that the Mordor Conference chose him as its Pitcher of the Month.

During the month, the Disaster bullpen specialist chalked up 2 wins and no losses while compiling a 2.61 ERA. In 10.1 innings Fredegar Mack yielded 8 base hits, struck out 1 and walked 4. Opposing batters hit .216 against him.

To this point in the year Mack has put up a 4-1 won-lost mark, made 41 relief appearances and rung up 25 saves. He has a 2.14 ERA and has allowed 31 hits over his 42 innings of work, struck out 53 batters and walked 15.

Bree Starter July’s Best Pitcher

Marçal Ivatt hated to see July turn to August.
And who could blame him?
The 27-year-old hurler piled up 4 wins and 1 loss for the Cheese last month and won the Shire Conference Pitcher of the Month award for his efforts.

Ivatt stymied opposing batters on 31 base hits and a .217 batting average. He rang up 41 strikeouts in 39 innings of work, surrendered 8 walks and fashioned a sparkling 2.08 ERA.

For the year, Ivatt has compiled a 8-8 record with a 3.16 ERA.

*Engwyn Crowned Batter of the Month in July

Elluin *Engwyn received the Mordor Conference Batter of the Month trophy earlier today for his efforts at the plate this last month.

“He might be getting older,” Lothlorien’s manager told reporters, “But he’s been around long enough to know what it takes to put a stretch such as this together… and he doesn’t keep that to himself. He’s always talking to the younger guys in the clubhouse helping ’em any way they’ll let him. Elluin’s value to our team goes farther than the numbers he puts up on the field.”

To win the honor *Engwyn put up a .367 batting average, 9 home runs, 28 RBIs and scored 18 times in July.

For the season, *Engwyn is hitting .343, batted in 81 runs with 30 home runs and 73 runs scored.

Hileman Picks Up Best SC Batter Honors for July

Rivendell Royals fans believe they’ve got a talented young star in Bahumanya Hileman.

He did nothing to dissuade that notion in July, as he hit .410 with 6 home runs, 17 RBIs and 22 runs scored.

The end result was the first baseman being named the Shire Conference Batter of the Month.

Currently Hileman has 21 home runs and a .322 batting average.

Lothlorien’s Fithraldor Injured, Out of Lineup

Irhaal Fithraldor of the Lothlorien Lumberjacks was injured in today’s game against Dunharrow and had to be helped off the field by the trainers. The initial diagnosis is a fractured wrist, and he is expected to be out for up to 5 weeks. It happened while Fithraldor was being hit by a pitch. “It hurt a lot, to be honest. I just hope it heals soon and I can get back on the field.”

Thus far this season, Fithraldor is hitting .247 with 21 home runs, 49 RBIs and 52 runs scored. He has 92 hits in 372 at-bats and has played in 95 games.

Misty Mountain, Ravenhill Confirm Swap

It came down to the last hour of a self-imposed trade deadline, but the Misty Mountain Hops and Ravenhill Darkwings finally came to an agreement on a trade that had been rumored for weeks. The trade sends Misty Mountain’s 34-year old RHP Amreet Shakerley, 20-year old minor league RHP Rurlag Gnomechewer, 22-year old minor league LHP Gleonyc Tussle, and 21-year old minor league RHP Merimas Brockhouse to Ravenhill in a swap for 24-year old minor league 3B Bladud Yonkers. Both GMs seemed relieved that the deal had been completed with one stating, “We had to set a deadline to get it done.” The players are expected to report to their new teams by tomorrow.

Misty Mountain will retain a portion of Shakerley’s remaining contract.

Old Forest-Misty Mountain Announce Deal

Officials for Old Forest confirmed that they have traded 30-year old LF Glonar Uirthur and 20-year old minor league 2B Abhyudita Wragg to the Misty Mountain Hops. In return, the Merry Fellows will receive 28-year old RHP Trai the Cow-catcher.

This season, Uirthur has posted a batting average of .235 with 72 hits in 307 at-bats, 15 home runs and 45 RBIs. He has also scored 54 runs, walked 34 times and compiled a .313 OBP.

For the year, the Cow-catcher has collected no saves in 39 relief appearances. He has also notched 60 strikeouts and 21 walks in 52.1 innings while registering a 3.27 ERA and a 2-4 won-lost record.

Lumberjacks Elluin *Engwyn Swings Hot Bat, MC Winner

Lothlorien’s Elluin *Engwyn would not be denied the Mordor Conference Player of the Week Award for this past week. His consistent stroke, which produced 11 hits in 24 at-bats and a .458 average, made him the clear favorite to win the honor.

“You just go out there and do what you have to do,” said *Engwyn, “When I’m up, I try to focus and block everything else out of my mind and have a good at-bat. I’m up there to get a hit or advance a runner, not to get caught up in the emotion of the moment. I hope I can win this award every week.”

He also tallied 2 home runs, 8 RBIs, and scored 6 runs.

*Engwyn on the season is hitting .346 with 30 home runs. His stats include 79 RBIs and 73 runs scored.

Player of the Week: Moria’s Chabel

His hard work and hustle paid off this week. The hard-working and hard-playing Mun-cheol Chabel was rewarded with the Shire Conference Player of the Week honors.

The scrappy Moria Miners first baseman hit .542 while collecting 13 hits in 24 at-bats, 2 home runs and 7 RBIs.

Looking at his season stats, Chabel has compiled a .291 batting average and a .394 on-base percentage, while hitting 14 home runs and driving in 41 runs.
