Dol Guldur Pins 1-0 Loss on Dagorlad

The Dol Guldur Dragons got a strong performance from pitcher Iver Durieux, who stymied the Dagorlad offense en route to a 1-0 win in Game 2 of the Two Towers Series. The Disaster could never get a bead on the left-handed Durieux, who threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The Dragons now hold a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-7 series.

Durieux, a native of Andunie, Human Lands, was dealing all game. He kept Dagorlad hitters off-balance, while giving the Dragons 6 quality innings. Durieux threw 106 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 8.

In postgame remarks, Durieux hailed his team’s “mettle.”

Carrock Tops Rivendell Again, 4-0

When he got to Carrock, Truzguh the Malicious was just worrying about staying on the roster. Today, he was starring in the Two Towers Series.

The 21-year-old rookie left-hander shut out the visiting Rivendell Royals, 4-0, in a remarkable performance at Old League Park. With the win, the Bears took a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 Two Towers Series.

In the bottom of the third, Carrock shortstop Flambard Cervandas had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Cervandas stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 1-0, Carrock. For the game, he was 1-3 with a walk.

“Makes our job easier,” said Cervandas, “when our pitchers shut the opposition down.”

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Royals Stadium.

Two Towers Series Game 1 Victory for Covalchuc and Dol Guldur

The Two Towers Series got off to a quiet start, with the host Dol Guldur Dragons taking a low-scoring, 2-0 win over the Dagorlad Disaster. Dol Guldur right-hander Dilo Covalchuc was marvelous at Dol Guldur Stadium. The Dragons now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Covalchuc was in the zone all game. He frustrated Dagorlad hitters while giving the Dragons 7 innings of quality work. Covalchuc threw 89 pitches, allowing no hits and getting 8 punchouts.

“Dilo did what Dilo does,” said Dol Guldur manager Vrsong the Drooler.

Bugsmasher Excels, Carrock Wins Two Towers Series Game 1

The Carrock Bears started the Two Towers Series in style, downing the visiting Rivendell Royals at Old League Park by a score of 5-4 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Bears left fielder Blurlug Bugsmasher was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2.

Sam *Oakenstaff, who finished 5th in the SC in home runs with 33 last year, took Rivendell hurler Snugzog Deathskull deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the Bears on top, 5-4. In all, *Oakenstaff had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

“Both teams played hard,” said Carrock manager Tigia Eladriendel.

Dagorlad Wins Fellowship Series

Thursday, October 17th , 2052
The Dagorlad Disaster were paced by a strong offensive output from Anurudha Fyra as they downed the Lothlorien Lumberjacks 4-3 to win the Fellowship Series.

Dagorlad won the final game by a score of 5-2 at Celebrant Field to send themselves off to the Two Towers Series.

“I wasn’t so much focused on putting up big offensive numbers as I was about ensuring we won the games. So it’s mission accomplished there,” said first baseman Fyra, who was named MVP.

For the series, the MVP hit .357 with a .400 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 6 runs.

The Dagorlad Disaster will play against the Dol Guldur Dragons in the next round. Dol Guldur won their series against the Weathertop Witch Kings 4 games to 0. The Two Towers Series schedule will be announced after the Fellowship Series finishes.

Lumberjacks Clip Disaster, 3-2, in Fellowship Series Contest

The Lothlorien Lumberjacks and the Dagorlad Disaster will take the Fellowship Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation, the Lumberjacks beat the Disaster, 3-2, at Celebrant Field to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Lothlorien first baseman Akhilesa Medellin hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice.

Medellin contributed in the bottom of the fifth. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Lothlorien get the win.

“I’ll probably toss and turn tonight,” Dagorlad manager Ghudkuh Ogreprodder said, following the tough loss.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Celebrant Field in Caras Galadhon.

Rivendell Takes Fellowship Series

The Rivendell Royals are off to the Two Towers Series after an exciting Fellowship Series triumph.

Rivendell downed the Minas Ithil Wyrms, but needed the entire series to do so, with a 6-5 win tonight at Silmarillion Cellular Field wrapping up the series 4-3.

“It’s every guy in this room that made this happen. Without us all pulling in the same direction, we don’t win this series,” said Wildemar Waelvor, who earned MVP honors for a standout offensive series.

Waelvor put up a .333 with a .393 on-base percentage in the series. He also had 2 home runs, drove in 3 runs and scored 6 runs himself.

The Rivendell Royals will play against the Carrock Bears in the next round. Carrock won their series against the Old Forest Merry Fellows 4 games to 2. The Two Towers Series schedule will be announced after the Fellowship Series finishes.

Raucous Silmarillion Cellular Field Crowd Propels Wyrms to 6-0 Victory; Series Tied at 3

The Minas Ithil Wyrms and the Rivendell Royals will take the Fellowship Series to a decisive 7th game. Facing a must-win situation, the Wyrms shut out the Royals, 6-0, at Silmarillion Cellular Field to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Minas Ithil left-hander Foxfire Forest-seeker did his part. He threw 7.2 innings of shutout ball.

Forest-seeker gave Minas Ithil a solid start. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits over 7.2 innings.

“Foxfire is a gamer,” said Minas Ithil manager Gomsh Elephantdicer.

Bears Win Fellowship Series

Mubgorg Ghoulslicer wore out opposing pitchers en route to being named Fellowship Series MVP.

The star’s Carrock Bears defeated the Old Forest Merry Fellows by a series score of 4-2 to advance to the Two Towers Series.

Carrock won the final game by a 5-4 count in front of a raucous crowd at Shire Greens Stadium.

Ghoulslicer hit .346 with a .433 on-base percentage in the series, while also adding 1 home runs, driving in 2 RBI and scoring 6 runs.

“Just trying to do my job, that’s all there is too it,” said Ghoulslicer.

The Carrock Bears don’t know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Minas Ithil Wyrms – Rivendell Royals series. Rivendell leads the series 3 games to 2. The Two Towers Series schedule will be announced after the Fellowship Series finishes.

Disaster Hammered by the Badger, Drop Game 5 to Lumberjacks

Already down in the Fellowship Series, the Lothlorien Lumberjacks put on their best show, beating the Dagorlad Disaster by a final score of 8-0. Doruk the Badger was special. He was 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Lothlorien now trails Dagorlad 3-2 in the best-of-7 affair.

Lothlorien used a well-timed hit by Idril Gwillas to capture the win. The shortstop socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Lumberjacks ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

“Solid game, solid win tonight,” said a smiling the Badger.

The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, October 16th , 2052 at Celebrant Field in Caras Galadhon.
