Glarion Punishes SC Pitchers This Week

Celomli Glarion must have thought he was dreaming. First he went on an exceptional week-long batting spree, bashing the ball at a .440 clip, then the Bywater shortstop finds out he has been chosen the league’s best performer and gets the SC Player of the Week Award.

He told BNN reporters in the postgame, “It was a great week for me. I could see the ball so well. Plus some of the balls seemed to have good eyes, too.”

For the week Glarion batted .440 (11-for-25) with 6 home runs and 15 RBIs.

Glarion is batting .280 with 38 home runs and 86 RBIs this season.

Star of the Week Picked in MC

His hard work and hustle paid off this week. The hard-working and hard-playing Ragnar *Stonecutter III was rewarded with the Mordor Conference Player of the Week honors.

The scrappy Isengard Raiders shortstop hit .345 while collecting 10 hits in 29 at-bats, 4 home runs and 7 RBIs.

In 118 games this season *Stonecutter III has compiled a .282 batting average with 115 hits and 26 home runs. He has also scored 64 times and knocked in 68 runs.

Great Week for Mirkwood’s Alok Elassidil

Alok Elassidil of the Mirkwood Sylvan had an award-winning week and today was voted the Player of the Week by the Shire Conference.

For the week the 30-year-old shortstop batted .632 (12-for-19) with 2 home runs and 4 RBIs.

This season Elassidil has hit at a .242 clip with 55 RBIs, 14 home runs and 61 runs scored.

Lake Town Hurler Captures 200th Victory

It was a great day for Elraugast Isaiwyn today at The Eyrie — he picked up victory number 200 to join the great pitchers of the past in the exclusive 200 Club, becoming just the 33rd hurler to reach that milestone. The Lake Town ace stopped the Erebor Eagles 5-4, yielding 6 hits and recording 6 strikeouts and 1 walk in his milestone game.

“200 wins puts you in some good company,” Isaiwyn told reporters. “I’m honored to be there.”

In his career, Isaiwyn has crafted a 200-108 record with a 3.19 ERA in 2843.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .230 against him and he has rung up 3008 strikeouts.

Ogrestomper Collects Hit Number 2500

Bofur Ogrestomper reached the 2500-hit milestone this afternoon at Khazad-dum Stadium. The 39-year-old Darkwings second baseman went 2-for-5 in a losing effort in the Ravenhill 6-3 defeat at the hands of the Moria Miners.

For his career, Ogrestomper has hit at a .287 clip. Among his lifetime numbers are 2501 hits, 463 doubles, 76 triples, 42 home runs and 609 RBIs.

Ugak *the Masher Wins MC Trophy

Ugak *the Masher demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the Mordor Conference Player of the Week Award.

The Dead Marshes second baseman wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .429 average (9-for-21) with 4 home runs and 6 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor.

*the Masher has collected 158 hits for the Uruk-hai this year, 40 of them home runs. He has also netted 94 RBIs and scored 110 runs while batting .390.

Barrage of Hits Gets Starym SC Award

A battle-tested Sylleth Starym declared war on opposing pitchers last week, attacking the ball like the well-schooled veteran he is. Today the 34-year-old Mirkwood third baseman collected the Shire Conference Player of the Week Award.

He wrapped up the week with a .368 average, 7 hits in 19 at-bats, 4 home runs, 5 RBIs and 4 runs scored.

This year Starym is hitting .238 with 23 home runs.

Elvythien Remains in Carrock

The latest out of Carrock indicates that Leojym Elvythien has re-signed with the Bears and that the 23-year-old starting pitcher is set to earn $2,040,000 over a 1-year span.

Team officials tell BNN the deal will be officially announced at a press conference tomorrow.

For the season Elvythien has compiled a 11-5 record with a 3.03 ERA.
