Return of the King Series to Carrock

It’s party time in Carrock. The confetti is flying and residents are smiling.

The Carrock Bears have reached the mountaintop, capturing the 2051 Return of the King Series today. They defeated the Numenor Kings 7-2 at Old League Park to officially wrap up the series 4-3.

Asked how it feels to be a champion, second baseman Z. Beryl of the Lake was to the point.

“It feels great, like a million bucks. I’m so happy right now, not just for me but for all the guys,” he said. “We put a lot of work into this and deserve to be champions.”

The team is planning a victory parade and fan appreciation day later in the week. Carrock finished the regular season 86-76 and claimed first place in the Shire Conference Hobbit Division.

Bears Clip Kings, 3-2, in Game 6

The Carrock Bears and the Numenor Kings will take the Return of the King Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation, the Bears beat the Kings, 3-2, at Old League Park to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Carrock left-hander Kragzub Kidneycrusher had a big role in the win. He threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Bears had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when second baseman Z. Beryl of the Lake hit a 3-run home run. The home run came off Till Underhill and made the score 3-0, Bears. of the Lake went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

“I made some pitches when I had to,” said Kidneycrusher.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Monday, November 6th , 2051.

Critical Game 5 Goes to Host Kings, 6-5

When the games really matter, the Numenor Kings put on their best show, beating the Carrock Bears by a final score of 6-5. Krutrush Trollthrottler went 4-4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Numenor now leads Carrock 3-2 in the best-of-7 affair.

Whip Keogh was the walk-off hero for Numenor. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Kings third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

“We’ve got guys willing to do what it takes to win,” Keogh told the Numenor News.

Game 6 is scheduled for Sunday at Old League Park.

Carrock Win Evens Series at 2

The Carrock Bears defeated the Numenor Kings, 8-6, in Game 4 of the Return of the King Series. Making an impact was second baseman Z. Beryl of the Lake, who was 3 for 5 with 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win moves Carrock into a 2-2 tie with Numenor in the series.

Flambard Cervandas hit a 2-run triple off Agron Kingmaker in the top of the ninth, which put the Bears in front, 7-6. Cervandas had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.

“I just tried to make good contact,” said of the Lake.

Carrock Breaks Through for First Win in Return of the King Series; Now Trails 2-1

Overcoming a bravura effort from opposing starter Pippo McCrudden, the Carrock Bears slipped past the Numenor Kings by the score of 3-1 and got their first win in the 2051 Return of the King Series. McCrudden threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the Bears. The win narrows Carrock’s deficit to 2-1.

Justin Armortearer came through with a big-time hit for Carrock. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

“I’m just looking to see the ball, hit the ball,” said Armortearer.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Thursday, November 2nd , 2051.

Numenor Pins 9-1 Loss on Carrock

Leave it to the veteran.

The Numenor Kings got a great start from 42-year-old right-hander Till Underhill, as Numenor won the contest, 9-1, at Old League Park. Underhill threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball in the win, which allowed the Numenor to grab a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Numenor used a clutch at-bat from Xing-peng Elisondo to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Kings ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

“We took advantage of our opportunities,” Elisondo told the Numenor News. “It’s as simple as that.”

Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at Capital One Stadium.

Road Win Lifts Numenor to 1-0 Lead in Series

The Numenor Kings powered past the hometown Carrock Bears, 7-6, in the opener of the Return of the King Series at Old League Park. Numenor third baseman Eldratha Alaenree was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the hosts. The Kings now lead the series 1-0.

Who knows how it might’ve ended, had it not been for Krutrush Trollthrottler? The Numenor third baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Kings on top, 4-2. For the game, Trollthrottler had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

“We’ll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one,” said Trollthrottler.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Monday, October 30th , 2051.

Bears Move on to Return of the King Series

Tolkien Baseball pundits who figured the Two Towers Series between the Carrock Bears and Bywater Bounders would go the distance were right on the mark.

The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with Carrock coming out on top thanks to a 7-4 win in the deciding game at Old League Park, to wrap things up 4-3.

“You get to the last game and anything can happen, so we’re overjoyed to come out on top,” said Bears third baseman Eldratha Alaenree, who was named series MVP.

For the series, Alaenree had 15 hits for a .500 average. He had 2 home runs, 3 RBI and scored 7 runs.

The Carrock Bears will play against the Numenor Kings in the next round. Numenor won their series against the Dol Guldur Dragons 4 games to 3.

Bounders Clip Bears, 3-2, in Game 6

The Bywater Bounders and the Carrock Bears will take the Two Towers Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation, the Bounders beat the Bears, 3-2, at Old League Park to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Bywater left-hander Lanlla Iseogrin had a big role in the win. She threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball.

Celomli Glarion, who finished 5th in the SC in RBI with 102 in 2048, had a direct impact on the outcome. Glarion contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the second inning to put Bywater up, 2-0.

Glarion attributed the win to his team’s “steely resolve.”

Two Towers Series Goes the Distance, Numenor Prevails

Thursday, October 26th , 2051
A classic and dramatic Two Towers Series has wrapped up, with the Numenor Kings outlasting the Dol Guldur Dragons to advance to the Return of the King Series.

Numenor won the final game by a score of 10-3 and took the series 4-3.

“We can enjoy this one tonight, but then it’s back to work and thinking about the next win,” said Numenor right fielder Rumzug Steale, whose standout performance earned him the nod as series MVP.

Steale hit .286 with a .382 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The Numenor Kings don’t know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Bywater Bounders – Carrock Bears series. Carrock leads the series 3 games to 2. The Return of the King Series schedule will be announced after the Two Towers Series finishes.
