Pimpernel Tibursson went on an explosive hitting spree against the Bree Cheese at Dunharrow Field today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the Dunharrow Devils to the 9-6 win.
The right fielder finished 3-for-5 with 3 runs scored and 5 runs batted in.
“It was just one of those days,” Tibursson said in a postgame interview. “I don’t know how to explain it. I’m just putting a good swing on the ball.”
Bree skipper Ishnakh the Tearer said Tibursson was “locked-in.”
“We made some pretty good pitches,” he said. “Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He’s just hot right now — you’ve just got to tip your hat to him.”
Pimpernel Tibursson hit a solo-shot off Odo Roper in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Guaspar Gamwich in the 6th, flied out in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Denaigol Gandillas in the 9th.
This year Tibursson is hitting at a .209 pace with 11 home runs and 39 RBIs. He has played in 82 games and scored 30 times.
