With 3 hits at Elrod Stadium at Finrod Field, Belraith Barries added another game to his hitting streak — the Minas Tirith shortstop has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn’t enough for the Titans, as they fell, 7-6, to the Moria Miners.
“Frankly, I don’t care about hits,” Moria manager Denilthor Silverbinder said later. “I’ll let him get 6 hits in 6 at-bats if it means we get a win.”
Belraith Barries doubled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Gottri Renussson in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 9th and flied out in the 11th.
Thus far this season in 46 games, Barries is batting .335 with 5 home runs, 21 RBIs and 24 runs scored. He has 58 hits in 173 at-bats.
