Proudneck Slams Door on Minas Tirith, Notches 300th Save

Thursday, August 24th , 2051
Once again Flambard Proudneck took the mound for Bywater with the game on the line, a scenario that has played out hundreds of times for the Bounders and their top reliever. And like he has several hundred times before, Proudneck closed out the victory over the Minas Tirith Titans. This save, however, was a bit more special than most — it was his 300th career save. The 32-year-old bullpen specialist shut down Minas Tirith on no runs and no hits, while working 1 innings in the 4-1 win at Elrod Stadium at Finrod Field.

“Early in my career, 300 saves was the only goal I had — if I could be around long enough to get it,” Proudneck said. “I thought to myself, if I could get 300, I’d feel like I’d accomplished something.”

Since making his debut, Proudneck has accounted for 300 saves. In 529 games, he has a 43-64 won-lost mark with 671 strikeouts in 591 innings.
