Riding the 4-hit performance of left fielder Gundahar Headstrong, the Minas Morgul Slayers stopped the visiting Dunharrow Devils, 5-1, in Game 2 of the Two Towers Series today. Headstrong was 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI for the Slayers, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.
The Slayers took a 5-1 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning. Facing Dunharrow hurler Othbert Hedgeworth with two outs, Headstrong hit a 2-run double.
“I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it,” said Headstrong.
Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday at Dunharrow Field.
