Almost There: Dagorlad On Cusp of Series Triumph After 7-6 Win

The Dagorlad Disaster moved to within one game of the Two Towers Series, downing the visiting Lothlorien Lumberjacks at Dagorlad Memorial Stadium by a score of 7-6. Disaster first baseman Anurudha Fyra did some major damage. He was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. The win gives the Disaster a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Fellowship Series.

With the game tied, 3-3, in the bottom of the fifth, Fyra had a key at-bat for Dagorlad. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Fyra hit a 2-run double off Drubmag Hammerscarer, making the score 5-3, Disaster.

“Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard,” said Fyra.

Dragons Heading to Two Towers Series

Sunday, October 13th , 2052
It’s a sweet sweep for the Dol Guldur Dragons and they have won the Fellowship Series. The Weathertop Witch Kings were not able to keep pace with the Dragons and dropped the series in short order, losing, 6-5, in the deciding game.

“This wasn’t really the effort we hoped for,” said Weathertop manager Lamli Goldsplitter.

It’s now on to the Two Towers Series for Dol Guldur after their 4-0 series win.

Leading the way for the winners was right fielder Halgondas Brisebois, who was named MVP. For the series, Brisebois hit .588 with a .588 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 6 runs.

The Dol Guldur Dragons don’t know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Lothlorien Lumberjacks – Dagorlad Disaster series. Dagorlad leads the series 2 games to 1. The Two Towers Series schedule will be announced after the Fellowship Series finishes.

Royals Even With Wyrms After Home Win

The Rivendell Royals knotted up the Fellowship Series at Royals Stadium, thanks in large part to second baseman Nargiz Deblois. Deblois was 4-4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 2 times as he overpowered the Minas Ithil Wyrms, enabling Rivendell to grab the 6-3 win and move into a 2-2 tie in the best-of-7 series.

Tied up with the Wyrms in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Royals got a boost from shortstop Giacomino Argyll. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Argyll saw a 1-1 circle change from Sago Buckland and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Rivendell on top, 2-1.

“That’s a solid team effort right there,” said Deblois. “Everyone’s feeling positive after that win.”

Closing In: Carrock Nears Two Towers Series With Dramatic Game 4 Win

The Carrock Bears got a strong game from starter Subkrut Shinsnapper, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win.

The Bears took the 5-4 win over the Old Forest Merry Fellows in Game 4 of the Fellowship Series in a 9th inning walk-off. The win capped off a fine outing for the left-handed Shinsnapper. Shinsnapper threw 8.2 innings of 4-hit ball in the win, which gave the Bears a 3-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Legeron Kidneycrusher was the walk-off hero for Carrock. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bears catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

“It feels good to get this one,” Kidneycrusher told the Carrock Times.

When the games really matter, the Dol Guldur Dragons put on their best show, beating the Weathertop Witch Kings by a final score of 11-0. Halgondas Brisebois went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Dol Guldur now leads Weathertop 3-0 in the best-of-7 affair.

Torjus Nicolaescu, the Dol Guldur center fielder, contributed a run-scoring double in the bottom of the third inning to make the score 2-0, Dragons. For the game, Nicolaescu was 2 for 5 with 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

Said losing manager Lamli Goldsplitter: “Give the Dragons credit. They played a better game than we did.”

Dagorlad Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in Series

If the Lothlorien Lumberjacks were expecting the pressure of the playoffs to get to Irene Black, they underestimated the veteran.

The Dagorlad Disaster got a strong start from the 38-year-old left-hander. Black threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball as Dagorlad won the contest, 4-1, at Dagorlad Memorial Stadium to take the lead in their best-of-7 series with the Lumberjacks. The Disaster now lead 2-1.

Black, who was born in Nurn, Unknown Lands, threw 84 pitches over 7 innings, while allowing no runs.

“For the most part, I felt like I did a pretty good job with executing the pitches I was throwing,” said Black.

Minas Ithil Tops Rivendell, 7-1, Claims 2-1 Series Lead

Rivendell had trouble with Minas Ithil starter Linda Grundy, who frustrated Royals hitters, as the Wyrms cruised to victory, 7-1, in Game 3 of the Fellowship Series. The Wyrms now hold a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-7 series, thanks in large part to the left-handed Grundy, who controlled Rivendell throughout the contest and threw 6.2 innings allowing 1 run.

Habaccuc Hilldweller broke a 0-0 tie in the top of the second with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. It put the Wyrms in front, 1-0. For the game, Hilldweller went 1 for 1 with 2 walks and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times.

“Linda mixed and matched,” said Minas Ithil manager Gomsh Elephantdicer.

Lightningfinder Blasts Merry Fellows, Bears Take Game 3, 15-3

With third baseman Sam Lightningfinder leading the charge, the Carrock Bears crushed the Old Forest Merry Fellows, 15-3, in Game 3 of the Fellowship Series. Lightningfinder went 1 for 2 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 at Old League Park as Carrock cruised to a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.

With two out in the bottom of the eighth, Sam *Oakenstaff barreled up a fastball from Betsie Gamwich. The result was a grand slam home run, putting the Bears in front, 15-2.

“We were able to get some things going offensively,” said *Oakenstaff.

Dol Guldur Extends Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair

The Dol Guldur Dragons got a strong performance from pitcher Iver Durieux, who stymied the Weathertop offense en route to a 2-1 win in Game 2 of the Fellowship Series. The Witch Kings could never get a bead on the left-handed Durieux, who threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball. The Dragons now hold a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-7 series.

Fastolph Grub had a direct impact on the outcome. Grub contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Dol Guldur up, 2-0.

“We’re happy,” Grub told reporters after the win. “When you’re in the playoffs, you’ve got to treat every game like it could be your last.”

Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at Dol Guldur Stadium.

Lumberjacks Hammered by Gwill, Drop Game 2 to Disaster

The Dagorlad Disaster defeated the Lothlorien Lumberjacks, 9-4, in Game 2 of the Fellowship Series. Making an impact was center fielder Gringamor Gwill, who was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 3. The win moves Dagorlad into a 1-1 tie with Lothlorien in the series.

In the top of the fourth, Dagorlad right fielder Cenap Galbey had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Galbey stroked a run-scoring single to left-center. It made the score 4-1, Dagorlad. For the game, he went 1 for 5.

“We’ll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one,” said Galbey.

Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at Dagorlad Memorial Stadium.
