Numenor Kings crowned champs!
NUMENOR - For the first time since 2004, Numenor and Bucklebury met in the Return of the King Series. And like that series, the Kings proved victorious.
Game 1 was a pitchers' duel between Gollogrin Gaum and Fabur Beardcutter. Gaum got the better of his Fairie opponent when a string of singles and an error led to 3 Numenor runs and a 4-1 King victory. In Game 2, Dolok Bonemangler and the Numenor bullpen shut down Bucklebury hitting. A 5-run 8th inning sealed the victory for the Kings. Down 2-0 in the series, Bucklebury struck back in Game 3 with a 5-hit shutout by Denealf Deneadur. In Game 4, they tied the series by winning a 10-inning thriller. After Numenor tied the score with 4 runs in the 9th, the Fairies' Buugush Badgerdicer drove in the winning run in the 10th with an RBI single. Numenor bats came alive to win Game 5, 13-2, as Ghash the Sneaky slammed 2 homers and Dolok Bonemangler pitched a complete game.
Finally, in Game 6, an amazing game unfolded. Down 2-1, the Fairies tied the game in the 9th when Scarlett Mawaan scored when Numenor tried to turn a game-ending double play and Bucklebury's Srukor Mandicer beat out the throw to first. In the top of the 11th, Mawaan launched a 441-foot homer to deep center to give the Fairies the lead. But in the bottom of that inning, Theo Nering scored on a single by Elramli Elimir to tie the game. Then, in the bottom of the 12th, utility infielder Thuus Serith struck for the second time in the post-season with a big homer, launching one 390 feet into the stands in right. A walk-off homer to win the game, the series and the championship for Numenor!
