The Minas Ithil Wyrms started the Fellowship Series in style, downing the visiting Rivendell Royals at Silmarillion Cellular Field by a score of 6-1 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Wyrms right-hander Frugorn Coronda threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball.
Coronda was in the zone, shutting down Rivendell hitters over 6.2 innings. Coronda, who threw 97 pitches, allowed 1 run on 3 hits. He also tallied 9 punchouts.
“Frugorn pitched his heart out,” said Minas Ithil manager Gomsh Elephantdicer.
