Dol Guldur Takes 1-0 Series Lead Behind 4 RBIs from C Gerargo

The Dol Guldur Dragons took the first game of the Two Towers Series in dramatic fashion, topping the Numenor Kings, 5-4, in an extra-inning walk-off win. Dragons catcher Dalrarz Gerargo was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With two out, Gerargo hit a fastball from Legeron Gezalian for a run-scoring single. The Dragons, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

“The tide will turn,” said losing manager Vugnar Mithrilhammer. “We just need to keep our chins up.”

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Thursday, October 19th , 2051.

Kings Prevail, as Fellowship Series Goes to the Wire

The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were on full display tonight at Sylvan Cove as the Fellowship Series stretched to the final game.

It was the Numenor Kings feeling the thrill of victory, with a 2-1 win over the Minas Morgul Slayers, who were feeling the devastation of coming up short in their quest to make the Two Towers Series.

“There’s no way around it — this sucks,” said Minas Morgul manager Mimosa Willow. “Congratulations to Numenor, but I won’t sugarcoat it, no one is happy about anything that transpired here tonight.”

Instrumental in the 4-3 series win was third baseman Krutrush Trollthrottler, who was named MVP. He hit .409 with a .481 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 7 runs.

“We’ve got the most important stat of all and that’s this final win — that’s the one that matters,” he said.

The Numenor Kings will play against the Dol Guldur Dragons in the next round. Dol Guldur won their series against the Lothlorien Lumberjacks 4 games to 3. The Two Towers Series schedule will be announced after the Fellowship Series finishes.

Dol Guldur Takes Fellowship Series in Deciding Game

In a series that had a little bit of everything, the Dol Guldur Dragons have edged the Lothlorien Lumberjacks.

The two rival clubs went the distance in the tightly-contested Fellowship Series, with a 9-3 win in the clincher being the difference for Dol Guldur and giving them the ticket to the Two Towers Series with a 4-3 series triumph.

“We never stopped believing in ourselves. When push came to shove we were going to get it done,” said Fastolph Grub, who was named series MVP.

For the series, Grub hit .429 with a .467 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 6 runs.

The Dol Guldur Dragons don’t know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Minas Morgul Slayers – Numenor Kings series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece. The Two Towers Series schedule will be announced after the Fellowship Series finishes.

Brainstomper Blasts Dragons, Lumberjacks Take Game 6, 6-3

The Lothlorien Lumberjacks and the Dol Guldur Dragons will take the Fellowship Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation, the Lumberjacks beat the Dragons, 6-3, at Celebrant Field to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Lothlorien left fielder Nudzud Brainstomper went 2 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 runs.

Had Merry Gamwich not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Gamwich hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Lumberjacks.

“Solid performance from our side,” said Lumberjacks manager Borthak Throatslobber.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Celebrant Field in Caras Galadhon.

Slayers Clip Kings, 3-2, in Fellowship Contest

In a crucial game, the Minas Morgul Slayers put on their best show, beating the Numenor Kings by a final score of 3-2. Tavus Calauth threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Minas Morgul and Numenor are now tied at 3 wins apiece in the best-of-7 affair.

Had Gamaimer Eladriendil not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Eladriendil hit a 2-run double. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Slayers.

“It feels a lot better to be tied than to be behind, even if it is only one game,” Minas Morgul manager Mimosa Willow said.

Bounders Move on to Two Towers Series

The championship dreams are still alive for the Bywater Bounders, while it’s back to the drawing board for the Old Forest Merry Fellows.

By a score of 6-5, Bywater won the decisive game at The Water Park today. The Bounders took the series 4-1.

Flambard Proudneck of the Bounders was named the Fellowship Series MVP.

“All our guys are really focused winning the Return of the King Series,” Proudneck said. “I’m not too concerned about personal awards.”

The Bywater Bounders will play against the Carrock Bears in the next round. Carrock won their series against the Rivendell Royals 4 games to 1. The Two Towers Series schedule will be announced after the Fellowship Series finishes.

Bears Heading to Two Towers Series

The Carrock Bears didn’t hold back their excitement after beating the Rivendell Royals in the Fellowship Series tonight.

Members of the team rushed onto the field and celebrated joyously when the victory became official, with a 6-1 win moving the club on to the Two Towers Series, clinching a 4-1 series win in front of the Old League Park crowd.

“This isn’t the big one, but of course we need to get through this before we can win a Return of the King Series, so it’s an important step,” said Sam *Oakenstaff as he took a break from celebrating. “Our guys are happy and excited to be moving on.”

*Oakenstaff was named series MVP, as he hit .455 with a .478 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 3 runs.

On the other side of the diamond, there was desolation. Many members of the Royals sat stone-faced in their dugouts, simply watching Carrock celebrate.

The Carrock Bears don’t know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Old Forest Merry Fellows – Bywater Bounders series. Bywater leads the series 3 games to 1. The Two Towers Series schedule will be announced after the Fellowship Series finishes.

Dol Guldur Wins Game 5 in Extras; On Verge of Two Towers Series

When the games really matter, the Dol Guldur Dragons put on their best show, beating the Lothlorien Lumberjacks by a final score of 9-8. Rili McAuselan was 5-6 with a home run and 4 singles. He scored 4 times and drove in 2. Dol Guldur now leads Lothlorien 3-2 in the best-of-7 affair.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the 11th, an error by the Lumberjacks allowed the Dragons to score the winning run.

“I just tried to make good contact,” said Nicolaescu.

Game 6 is scheduled for Monday at Celebrant Field in Caras Galadhon.

Critical Game 5 Goes to Host Kings, 3-1

Game 5 was big. So was Till Underhill.

In leading Numenor to a crucial 3-1 victory over the Minas Morgul Slayers at Capital One Stadium, the Numenor starter rose to the occasion, tossing 6 good innings. Underhill threw 6.0 innings allowing 1 run as the Kings defended their home field to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 Fellowship Series.

Màrku Hammersmelter, who led the MC in home runs with 46 in 2051, came through for Numenor with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth. The left fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 1 run batted in.

Underhill called the win a test of his team’s “mettle.”

The next game is set to be played for Monday, October 16th , 2051 at Sylvan Cove.

Almost There: Bywater On Cusp of Series Triumph After 2-0 Win

Hsin-ping Sandybanks pitched a gem to help the Bywater Bounders escape with a tight, 2-0 victory over the Old Forest Merry Fellows in a low-scoring Fellowship Series contest. The left-handed Sandybanks threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball in the win, just enough for the Bounders on a day when their offense dried up. Bywater now leads the best-of-7 series 3-1.

The Merry Fellows had trouble solving Sandybanks, who surrendered no runs on 3 hits over 8 innings.

“I’m just trying to make sure I’m focused for each and every pitch,” said Sandybanks.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Sunday, October 15th , 2051.
