\nIt was a terrific day for Alrond *Hubbard, Jr., who ripped three home runs at Elrod Stadium at Finrod Field, and a disappointing one for the Old Forest Merry Fellows who, nevertheless, dropped the game, 9-8, to the Minas Tirith Titans.<\/p>\n
“He was instant offense,” Old Forest skipper Tom Bombadil said. “Alrond really put on a show. He more than did his part. We just didn’t come through with hits at the right time to win the game.”<\/p>\n
For the day, *Hubbard, Jr. collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, scored 3 runs and had 4 RBIs.<\/p>\n
In the postgame press conference he told the reporters he has always liked to hit at Elrod Stadium at Finrod Field.<\/p>\n
“I got some good pitches to hit and turned on them real good,” he said.<\/p>\n
Alrond *Hubbard, Jr. struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Matta Greenthumb in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Matta Greenthumb in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Andy Holgate in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.<\/p>\n
